if i were a millionaire...

yesterday, i got to thinking about what i would do with $550 million.
why?
because that's how much the florida powerball jackpot was worth!
my office went in on 66 tickets, so we thought our chances were pretty good.

unfortunately, we didn't win.

(that's how i felt towards the lottery announcer)

but, it wasn't a total loss, because it got my creative juices flowing.
what really would be my first move as a multi-millionaire?

i decided i would buy andrew and myself tickets to an island, pronto.
i would only use as much money as it took to survive there for a few months,
and i wouldn't touch the rest until i was done relaxing.

my next act of business would be to pay off my parents' house, my sister's college, etc.
you know, the grown-up boring stuff.

third, and finally, i would make sure to save/invest the rest somewhere safe,
so that i wouldn't have to work for the rest of my life.
sounds pretty nice, right?

...what would you do with the money?

weekend update

let's talk about my weekend. it was awesome!

a friend from school was in town, and we had another friend's wedding to attend.
the ceremony was at the same church where mine will be (ah!)
& the reception was at the country club of orlando.

here are some pictures:

as you can see, it was incredibly nice. the bride looked beautiful,
& the groom looked handsome.
...it made me start thinking about my own wedding SO much!
which means, my next post will be the first (of many)
that actually go into detail about my plans.

i'm sure you all have been mildly curious dying to know more!

stay tuned, and i promise you won't be disappointed.

what's to come

just in case anyone was wondering, i thought i would write about my present & future
(and andrew's, of course!)

right now, i'm living at home in orlando, and working at mutual of omaha -
an insurance company. it's an 8:30 to 5:30 job,
and combined with living under the same roof as my parents & siblings again,
its a lot to handle! i'm doing my best though...
with a lot of help from after-work naps ;)

andrew, on the other hand, is still in school at UGA... he will graduate in may.
unfortunately, that means he is an 8 hour drive away from me.
i can tell you from experience: long distance is hard!
i've never done it before and i never want to do it again.

finally, after our wedding this summer (which is july 20, 2013)
we will be moving to austin, texas!!!
andrew interned at a technology company this past summer (called vmware)
and he was so great that they asked him to come back full-time!
i'm so excited to explore a new city with my hubby.

moral of the story:
i can't wait for this summer, and i hope you come along for the ride!

electric daisy carnival

this weekend i attended one of the most fun events i've ever been to:

electric daisy carnival

or, as everyone calls it... edc.

it was seriously amazing. imagine 3 different stages of ear-shattering dance music, 40,000 hippies in crazy costumes everywhere you turn, more light shows than i've ever seen before, & old-fashioned carnival rides on top of all of that.

let's just say i am definitely going back next year, and i'll be much more prepared. with headliners like tiesto, afrojack, & bassnectar, how could it be anything other than a great time? here are just a few of the pictures i took, and they don't even come close to capturing the entire atmosphere:

basically, i've got the festival bug, and i'm already starting to look into what i can go to next... if you have any ideas, please let me know! i always need partners in crime ;)
